I got this idea for a character names Cosette after listening to the Les Miserables soundtrack. I think i'll develop her a little more..

Mouton was inspired after i saw a really cute Blythe doll..i know that cute animal hat thing is so overdone....but gawd im sucker for it! Mouton is Cosette's best friend..but i'm pretty sure he doesnt exist.

i like this brush treatment for the hair..really makes it feel..hairy.

Here is some quick PeterPan fan art...i love PeterPan so much, it's definitely one of my favorite Disney films! I'm not sure what he's looking at though...he's pretty deep in thought.

I drew this after i saw the Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett video...she looked absolutely gorgeous!

And this is actually my very first Sven and the Snow Bees fan art that i've ever received! My penpal Dave Carter drew this up for me as a wonderful surprise gift. He really brought life to all my Sven and the Snow Bees characters!! Thanks again Dave!

I went to the new Cirque Du Soleil show Iris at the Kodak Theater..it was phenomenal, i highly recommend it! So i saw this couple at the show...they weren't wearing masks, but Frank M and i thought that this couple looked like birds..a beautiful peacock man and his swan wife. I swear this guy was wearing an all blue suit..it was fantastic.

I just want to thank everyone for the super lovely comments in my previous post about graduating etc, it was really sweet and meant a lot :) ANNDDDD now i am off to L.A for 3 months (and hopefully longer) to do an internship at Nickelodeon!! I really think it will be a great way to get my foot in the door, and meet lots of awesome people. If you want to hang out this summer and you're in L.A please don't hesitate to send me an email! Sven and the Snow Bees!

So i've had this idea buzzing in my head for awhile, it's for a fake show named 'Sven and the Snow Bees'...it's about a cute kid named Sven and his pet snow bees having adventures in his world of perpetual snow. I really want to develop it more..so here are the beginning stages of my ideas!

There's a lot more characters and places in this world that i haven't drawn up yet...plus i want to explore Sven's family more...he's part Neanderthal, and his brother is too, but i think Tal shows it more. I have doodles of his parents that i'm going to develop more too! Hope you enjoyed Sven and Bees peak preview :)

I was flipping through a National Geographic and found this great article on the people of Colombia's Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. These drawings are loosely based off the photographs, i changed their tunics style and color a bit. The hat she is wearing is a Kogi villagers hat which is a traditional priests hat..i'm not sure if girls are allowed to wear it or not. The shape of the hat symbolizes the Sierra Nevada snowy peaks, although i made it a little more.....cartoony looking ;P I'm going to do more drawings of their houses, they are truly beautiful!

Well i decided to do this drawing in celebration of having 30 people follow my blog...i know that today 30 really doesn't mean anything, actually it technically means im not that "popular" but i'm so so so happy about the number 30. So thank you!! Thank you for looking at my art and thank you for deciding to follow me through my little artistic blog journey. I love seeing where each person is from, and it's been amazing realizing how many people from all over the world have found my art, and now i get to enjoy theirs back. I have also made so many new friends just through reading peoples comments and commenting on their art! I remember how happy i was when the first person started following my blog (Whitney hehe) how exciting that was and how good it made me feel. It still feels great to see the numbers increase..i know feeling good about yourself shouldn't be based on numbers..but it really does give me encouragement to keep updating and create for myself and for the people who care to watch.

i think my fav is of him going "oopsie" i think i drew him at optimal cuteness there...oh i drew myself again, but i'm looking at my new shiny crystal necklace in awe...its so SHINY!! i've never owned jewellery so bootiful.

3rd year rant and sketch's

Well school is finally over..what a year. A year full of ups and downs..I never thought in a hundred years that working on a group film with 11 other people who all have different tastes in pretty much everything would be so hard. It was physically and mentally draining..but I think the hardest part wasn't the work, but having to work with so many people so closely. I learned that even the most difficult, tedious work can be done without wanting to kill anyone as long as you're doing it with people you trust will do a good job, and are just awesome to be around. As soon as you start to work with people who don't listen, or care or just have bad attitudes, that's when even the easiest task becomes hell. I'm guessing this is why studio's tend to hire friends and people who have the same tastes in art and movies and stuff...cause it is damn hard to make a film with someone who loves all the movies you hate ;)
Other than that, my art has been a little scarce except for doodles here and there. The crazy colored fox one is just an idea for 4th year...and the other sketches are kinda random :) The chick with the purple hair is just a passing thought of what HitGirl (Kick-Ass) would be like when shes older. I figured shes so bad ass as a little girl, that she'd be like, extra raunchy and crazy as a teen...hhmm..

Captain Bluebeard!

So after reading the surprisingly freaky tale of BlueBeard i got inspired to try and draw him..he's a mega wealthy man who likes to bring out the worst in women (our apparent weakness with curiosity) then kill them after the women disobey his orders. He has trouble with the ladies cause of his Blue beard..and maybe because he's psycho..
I want to try and make him look more ugly and crazy..i like the idea of his nose always slightly changing shapes, like when he gets super mad, or happy...and also the idea of his hands being kinda small, but sometimes getting huge and a little grotesque when he holds the key to the mysterious room (read the story he he)

After watching Taking Woodstock i felt like drawing some hippies...I think this one is saying "Just feel the magic groovy love, baby" or something stereotypical like that

Just quick doodles..the watercolor isn't my favorite..i was just testing some colors and in the process i realized i needed more practice..booo...although i find the sketches have much more life and energy which i like.

This quick doodle was done around X-mas when i was sketching at the mall and saw these ladies dressed in these amazing x-mas fairy costumes doing the santa photos...it just sparked an idea to develop it further. I tried to keep a lot of the lines very flowy by using only one quick stroke..sometimes it took 10 times to get one stupid line! ahhh well, i like the final result! Just need to color it..

Eventually these will be colored and fixed up..i had a lot of fun drawing these guys trying to keep a sense of flow and rhythm in the drawing!

Once again Cecil (our main character from our third yr film) has gone through reconstructive surgery...i think he's fed up with it. Here are some really quick sketches exploring his face and expressions..i think i like him with the shorter neck better...and maybe more hair...he's kinda pulling a bit of a TinTin look right now.
